Evan is the founder and chief mischief-maker at EnPower. Evan has been developing and managing energy projects and companies in the sustainability and renewables arena for most of the last 30 years. One memorable project included the design and construction of the world’s largest green-field wood pellet plant (which required raising $110 M in debt and equity). Another project involved an innovative approach to gasification technology which resulted in the company growing from one to 31 employees. In addition, Evan took a mid-career adventure and taught high school science and math for two years. Evan recently celebrated his 25th anniversary with his wife, Paige, with whom he has two delightful college-aged children, Samuel and Rebecca.
Dean serves as an advisor to the company’s board. He is an early pioneer and titan in the solar industry. Dean founded Sholas Technologies Group (NASDAQ: SHLS) in 1996 which makes electrical balance of systems equipment for some of the world’s biggest solar installations. He and his team took the company public in January of 2021. Dean recently resigned from Shoals’ Board of Directors and stepped away from the company. If you know him, retirement isn’t a concept for his active mind, so he continues to create, engineer, and think about simple solutions to complex problems. Dean and his wife reside in Tennessee, and they have two adult children.
Dan leads our Finance, Administration, and Human Resources areas. He served in multiple capacities in the financial services industry for 29 years before joining EnPower Solutions. His vast experience includes business finance, risk management, commercial banking, financial modeling, team building, and customer service. Dan has been married to his wife Lee for over 30 years and they have two adult children, Evan and Molly.
Kerry has over twenty years of experience in the engineering, design, and management of power generation projects and facilities. Previously, he managed the construction portfolio for multiple utility scale solar installations across Texas, Illinois, and Georgia. Kerry is also a registered professional engineer in several states with experience in engineering structural and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. He holds an engineering degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Ohio. He is a proud man of faith and family, and adores his wife Rebecca and three boys Price, Pierce, and Rhett.
Taft is a junior partner who leads our sales support and project development organizations. Prior to joining our team, Taft spent three years leading diligence for approximately a gigawatt of utility-scale solar transactions across the U.S. with a large independent power producer. With the utility, he also spent time at a nuclear-generating facility as a systems engineer responsible for systems that control and monitor core reactivity. He still glows slightly late at night. Taft is married to his high school sweetheart, Laura, and are both from the musically-famous Muscle Shoals, AL. They recently welcomed a newborn son, Reece.
Skip, the “senior” team member, brings to EnPower forty-six years of electrical and energy engineering experience, specializing in providing expert power distribution, power quality and energy engineering services. He spent much of his career as a solutions provider for industrial, commercial, municipalities, and educational facilities. Skip and his wife, Kelly, have been married for thirty-eight years and have three grown children Andrew, Lindsay, and Gabe and three awesome grandchildren Nix, Zephyr, and Kai.
Cody leads our Business Development and customer relationship organization. He brings a passion for working with people to find solutions that fit them and their needs. Prior to EnPower, he facilitated staffing solutions for architectural, engineering, and environmental firms. Cody also served as a youth pastor for 5 years after college. He has an undergraduate degree in Theological Studies from Lipscomb University. Cody and his wife Leighton have been married for over two years and have a new baby daughter named Karow.
Miles is a Business Development Manager where he focuses on customer relationships and supporting them on their path to energy independence through renewables. He brings 7 years of industrial and construction account management to the development team. Miles attended Huntington College where he received his Sports Management Degree. He was also a captain on the baseball team, and played professionally for four years following graduation. His passions are his family, sports and outdoors, and serving others. Miles and his wife Andrea have a fun, loving, family with a toddler son and a new baby daughter.
Joseph oversees, plans, and manages our operations, maintenance, and asset management for our operating fleet. He is a recent graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. While at Mississippi State, Joseph spent his free time on the university’s Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) team where he was the Controls and Ergonomics Lead. He has a passion for Formula racing and automotives. Joseph recently adopted a puppy named Ginger.
Clay develops, advises, and maintains our educational material to accompany solar projects. He also supports select business development and facility operational activities. Clay is a native of Birmingham who started teaching in 1997 at the University of Alabama – Birmingham (UAB) and has been teaching at the Alabama School of Fine Arts since 1999. He teaches geography, civics, economics, and quantitative finance classes. Clay holds an undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology and Spanish Literature from Tulane University, a Master’s of Business Administration, and a Master’s of Arts in Education from the University of Alabama – Birmingham. He is married to Ally, and they have two children, Maya and Finn.
Arvind graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in biological engineering. His passion for environmentalism drove him to join EnPower and help with their mission of providing clean and affordable energy to businesses, schools, and hospitals. Originally a Mississippi native, he looks forward to living in Birmingham and exploring the city. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the guitar and the piano (badly). Arvind lives with his pet cat Meera who he has a love-hate relationship with.
Joe is the SVP of EnPower's eMobility division and has more than a decade of experience in both the technology and renewable sectors. He has a vast background in leading sales, marketing, engineering, and operations teams working for well-known fortune 100 companies including Verizon and Shell. Most recently, Joe held the role of Vice-President of eMobility at Shoals Technologies Group where he launched their eMobility division and led the sales and solutions teams. He also serves as an Executive Board Member and President-elect for Autism Speaks - Georgia where he leads their corporate engagement and recruitment committees. Autism Speaks is the largest autism advocacy non-profit organization in the United States sponsoring autism awareness, research, and outreach. Joseph and his wife, Lauren, have two children and reside in Atlanta, GA.
Turner is a Project Manager who manages a cross-functional team to deliver solar and EV charging projects. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise working across several trades, large-scale construction sites, and permitting acumen Prior to EnPower, Turner traveled for three years as a Project Manager constructing data centers and other technology infrastructure for several of the largest tech companies in the world. Turner received a Business Administration degree from Samford University in 2018. He enjoys weekends on the lake with friends, Alabama football, turkey hunting in the spring, and operating heavy equipment when he gets the chance.
Tommy is a Project Manager who manages a cross-functional team to implement solar and EV charging projects. He has the drive to see clean energy provided to communities through his attention to design, engineering, and effectively deployed capital. Tommy is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. After school, his passion for the outdoors inspired a move from Mississippi to the mountains of western North Carolina where he took a job as a project manager for a manufacturing company. In his free time, you can find him camping and hiking through state and national parks or in his home darkroom developing the photos he took along the way.
Peyton is a Project Manager who brings a heavy construction background to EnPower to lead solar and EV charging implementation. His experience has him focused on implementing lean construction practices and removing waste from the process. Prior to EnPower, Peyton worked for three years leading commercial and residential construction projects. He has successfully completed over 175 new construction projects. Peyton received a Management Information Systems degree from Miles College in 2019, where he was a three-year captain of the baseball team. He is married to his wife Marisa, and they have two children, Cooper and Caroline. He enjoys hunting, fishing, Auburn athletics, and spending time with friends.
